If the Germans had an agency like this one, they'd call it the Heimatsicherheitsministerium.Former New York Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik and former New York Fire Commissioner Thomas Van Essen have formed the Bush-Cheney 2004 National First Responders Team supporting the president's re-election.
In announcing the group, Kerik took a swipe at Sen. John Kerry, pointing to Kerry's votes to cut intelligence budgets and against the $87 billion Iraq appropriation and saying his biggest fear is another 9/11 attack: "If you put Senator Kerry in the White House, I think you are going to see that happen ... and I don't want to see another September 11."
