Here's a useful piece on the anti-scientific agenda of the wingnuts promoting "Intelligent Design" as a "scienced up" form of creationism.
In addition to putting the ID crowd through the predictable (though unfortunately necessary) logical wringer, the article also warns that we should not let our dismissal of the religiously-inspired ID movement to blind us to the ethical dangers of human-driven efforts to use technology to redesign nature, what the author calls "Scientific Intelligent Design."
In other words, even if "God" has not designed the details of the universe, this does not mean we should allow ourselves to be complacent about the possibility some humans will want to "play God" -- especially since they're likely to play badly.
