Bolton to the U.N.

George Bush named John R. Bolton to be next American ambassador to the U.N. To get the right sense of the meaning of Bolton's assignment to the U.N. post, imagine if Harry Truman had appointed Father Coughlin to be ambassador to Israel.

Gabriel Espinoza Gonzales's nice piece on Bolton suggests that Bolton's assignment should be read as more evidence that the lunatics are running the asylum in Washington.
